Why it can be useful

Fat type can matter to nutrition questions, but fatty-acid detail is only useful when the ingredient mapping and source record support it. FDA’s label guidance distinguishes saturated fat from total fat and emphasizes interpreting nutrient amounts in the context of the labeled serving.
